Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

Its as you were at the top of the table as leaders Westland Sports returned to winning ways after defeating hosts Shaftesbury Reserves 5-0 at Cochrams, scoring Sports goals were Phil Ormrod x4 & Duncan McCabe. Hard on their heels are Sturminster Newton who overcame a tricky looking fixture at Hamworthy United Reserves by defeating the Hammers 4-2, scoring for the visitors were Elliot Bevis, Ash Clarke, Neil Sweatman & Buddy O’Shea whilst notching for the hosts were Kai McCrow & Dwayne Yeboah. Bournemouth Sports returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 win at Chapel Gate against Wimborne Town Reserves, scoring for the hosts were Callum Dickinson & a brace for Jack Voisey. Biggest scorers of the day were Dorchester Sports who thumped Sherborne Town Reserves 10-0 at the Avenue, helping themselves in the goal fest were Alex Godfrey x4, Elliott Rossiter x2, Dan Sheehy x2, Owen Peart, & Toby Read. Holt United made the trip to Turin Moor to face Poole Borough and needed another 2nd half performance to run out 5-2 winners, Luke Bascombe had the hosts ahead at the break only for Ali Garrard x4 & Connor Bent to score for the Bulls with a Ryan Kelly header scoring Borough’s 2nd., another side to produce a decent 2nd half were Swanage T&H who defeated Sturminster Marshall 3-1 at Days Park, scoring for the Swans were Henry Counsell, Jack Hughes & Aaron Merredew whilst Will Gage from the penalty spot scored Sturminster’s consolation. Blandford United picked up a comfortable 2-0 win at Park Road against Bridport Reserves with a Steve Smith brace, 1 from the penalty spot, accounting for the Royals goals. Finally, Merley Cobham Sports picked up another home win as they beat Balti Sports 3-1, the hosts goals came courtesy of George Coleman, Michael Trim & Jack Foden with Dan Andrews scoring Baltic’s consolation.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
