Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

In what could be a pivotal moment in the race for the title, Sturminster Newton opened up a 3 point gap at the top of the table after their hard fought 4-2 win at home against Swanage T&H who had led twice in the game through 2 Charlie Brassington Penalties however, goals from George Coleman, an OG, Aaron Lane-Laney & Elliott Bevis secured the points for the hosts, a result made all the more sweeter as Westland Sports were defeated on the road at Wimborne Town Reserves 5-2, scoring for the hosts were Liam Nixon, Brad Waters x2 & Luke Sheehy x2. Replying for the visitors were Oliver Hebbard & Josh Payne, Westland’s also had Malik Kamal sent off on a day to forget for the visitors. The chasing pack are hard on the heels of the leaders as Holt United travelled to West Dorset to play Bridport Reserves and return with a 7-2 win, scoring for the Bulls were Ali Gerard x3, Scott Bungay, Corey Elwick, Kyle John-Clement & Connor Bent, replying for the Bees was Dom Mcallister with a brace. Bournemouth Sports put bottom placed Shaftesbury Reserves to the sword at Chapel gate with a comfortable 5-2 win, Jack & Tony Voisey helped themselves both to a brace with the 5th courtesy of Matt Gane, scoring for the Rockies was Curtis Lane also with a brace. Merley CS secured a 2-0 win at Sherborne Town Reserves with their goals scored by Dan Edwards & an OG. Sturminster Marshall & Dorchester Sports played out a 1-1 draw with Will Gage scoring for the hosts with Sports Toby Read equalising, another game to finish all square was a 0-0 draw between Hamworthy United Reserves & Balti Sports. Portland United Reserves & Poole Borough shared 6 goals and the points in an entertaining 3-3 draw at the Camp & Satherley Stadium. Scoring for the Blues were Jamie Cleaver with a brace & Josh Camp, whilst replying for the Hornets were Jake Dove, also with a brace and Pablo De Larriva.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.
