Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

With both Holt United and Westland Sports matches Postponed due to Waterlogged Pitches, League Leaders Sturminster Newton took full advantage by winning 5-1 at Bridport Reserves, scoring for the table toppers were Ash Clarke, Will Guppy x2, Elliott Bevis & Jamie Danoris, replying for the Bees was Dom Mcallister. Bournemouth Sports left it late to pick up an important win at Poole Borough, a Cam Shaw header put Sports in front only for Ty Denty to equalise and it took an injury time goal from Jack Voisey to secure the points and move Sports up into 2nd spot in the table. Merley CS won again when beating Sturminster Marshall 3-0 at Canford Park, scoring for the hosts were George Coleman, Callum Perry & Dan Edwards. Top scorers on the day were Blandford United who Royally thrashed Balti Sports 9-0 at Park Road, getting the Blues goals were Joe Freak x2, Reuben Stanley x2, Elliott Manson x2, Pat Jenkins, Archie Mcarthy & Joe Kempster. Wimborne Town Reserves continued their fine 1st season in the league with a deserved 4-1 win at Portland United Reserves, scoring for the visitors were Brad Waters, Liam Nixon & a brace from Luke Sheehy, replying for the Islanders was Ryan Mckechnie. Finally, they say football is a funny old game, and so it proved at Raleigh Grove wher hosts Sherborne Town Reserves avenged their 10-0 thrashing 3 weeks ago at Dorchester Sports by beating them 3-1 this afternoon, scoring for the Zebras were Spencer Crampton, Alfie Calway & Jamie Jarman, scoring Sports consolation was Liam Taylor.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
