
Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

7 games played today with none lost to the weather for the 1st time in ages .....
It was Bottom v Top at Churchill Close, and the result, predictably went the way of the Leaders as Blandford United won, meanwhile another side to win big were Swanage Town & Heston who beat Poole Borough 8-0 in the Purbeck, scoring for the "Swans" were Mitchell White (x4) Dan Reeks with a brace, Charlie Brassington & Charlie Dyke. Despite a Billy Bright goal, Sturminster Newton went down 4-1 at Wimborne Town Res at the New Cuthbury, scoring for the hosts who now move into 2nd spot were Addwell Chipungura (x2) Sonny Pike & George Griffiths. Bournemouth Sports picked up an impressive 3-0 win at the Avenue Stadium against hosts Dorchester Sports, scoring for the visitors were Taylor Edwards (x2) & Jamie Trimble. Westland Sports welcomed Hamworthy United Reserves to Alvington and beat them 3-1, scoring for the hosts were Sam Carney, Ollie Crisp & Alex Murphy, replying for the "Hammers" was Neemo Nixon. Another side to win 3-1 were Balti Sports who defeated Bridport Reserves at the College, scoring for the hosts were, Matt Chambers, Stef Stavrinos & Jack Summers, all in the 1st half, scoring the "Bees"consolation was Dan Elliott.
Finally, Merley Cobham Sports and Holt United played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Canford Park, Holt saw their keeper Lucas Goad sent off in the 1st half, more drama followed as Ali Garard put the "Bulls" in front early in the 2nd half, back came the hosts who scored 3 goals in 8 minutes courtesy off strikes from Amechie Eze-Sunday, Dan Edwards & Charlie Shears to lead 3-1, Emil Jacobsen pulled 1 back for Holt and with the game entering injury time they got their equaliser courtesy of an OG.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
