Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

Another day of twists and turns as the Championship race this season continues to deliver, League leaders Sturminster Newton needed another 2nd half performance as they beat Poole Borough at Turlin Moor 3-0, with all their goals coming in the 2nd half courtesy of Nick Thomson x2 & Ryan Schoulten. Westland Sports away day troubles hit them again as they went down 4-2 at Hamworthy United Reserves, this despite being 2-0 up with goals from Phil Ormrod & Max Rowswell, back came the Hammers with strikes from Sam Foweraker, Matthew Rennie, Alfie Matthew’s from the penalty spot & Joe Wearden. Holt United move into 2nd place after a close fought 2-1 win at Petersham Lane against Wimborne Town Reserves, scoring for the Bulls were Sam Herrington & Corey Elwick whist replying for the visitor’s was Sonny Pike. Bournemouth Sports picked up another 3 points after their 3-0 win at Chapel Gate against Blandford United, which sees them climb into 3rd place in the table, scoring for the hosts were Callum Dickinson x2 & Chris Speers. Dorchester Sports beat Merley CS 5-2 at the Avenue with the majority of the damage done in the 1st half, goals from Elliott Rossiter, Jamie Samways & Joel Hewitt x2, had the hosts 4 up at the break, they added a 5th from Alex Godfrey with James Cherrett & Matt Groves replying for the visitors. Sturminster Marshall beat Sherborne Town Reserves 3-0 at home with their goals coming from Jordan Fisk, Josh Ridland & Josh Curtis-Hicks. Swanage T&H picked up a big win at home by beating Balti Sports 6-1, scoring for the Swans were Abraham Adesoji x2, Will Pryor, Charlie Brassington x2 including a penalty & Cody Moore.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
