Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE CUP - SEMI FINALS
It will be an ALL Sturminster Final in this Year’s League Cup Competition as Sturminster Newton needed Penalties to settle their tie after their game finished 0-0 after Extra Time against Holt United, eventually winning the Penalty Shootout 4-2 to keep their Treble ambitions on course. Meeting them in the Final will be Sturminster Marshall who brushed aside Hamworthy United Reserves 3-0 with their goals coming from Will Gage, Jordan Fisk & Callum Whitelaw.

Bournemouth Sports produced a stunning comeback after being 2-0 down at HT against Swanage T&H at Chapel Gate, trailing to a Charlie Dyke penalty & a Jake Streams free kick, Callum Charlton pulled 1 back for the hosts before a brace from Sam Darlow with his 2nd in the last minute, securing 3 valuable points for Sports. In the battle of the bottom 2, Bridport Reserves beat Shaftesbury Reserves 4-0 at St Marys Field, scoring for the Bees were Toby Mann, Bradley Rowe x2 & Kieran Coombes, this result confirms Shaftesbury will finish in last place in this season’s table. Blandford United picked up a decent 3-0 win at home against Merley CS with the Blues goals coming from Joe Kempster, Steve Smith with a penalty & Joe Freak all scored in the 1st half. The Ridgeway derby went the way of the hosts Portland United Reserves who beat Dorchester Sports 3-2 with their goals coming from Archie Machon x2 & Ollie Mayo, this after trailing to goals from Elliott Rossiter & an OG had put the visitors two up. Wimborne Town Reserves returned to winning ways as they thumped Sherborne Town Reserves 6-1 at the New Cuthbury, scoring for the hosts were Heath Thornton with a hat trick, a brace from Cameron Corbin and a Adam Holmes strike, scoring the consolation for the visitors was Charlie Rowe.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
