
Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

A crowd of nearly 350 witnessed league Leaders Sturminster Newton win their penultimate match 3-1 this evening at Park Road where hosts Blandford United played their part in a pulsating Local Derby. The Royals led at the break courtesy of a Pat Jenkins header only for Sturminster to equalise early in the 2nd half from Buddy O'Shea, the turning point of the game then saw Blandford reduced to 10 men as Charlie John saw Red. George Coleman then put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot and Ash Clarke secured their victory late on with the 3rd. Bournemouth Sports returned to winning ways as they beat Sturminster Marshall 4-1 at Chapel Gate, scoring for the hosts were Madison Wilkin, Josh Moody, Jack Voisey from the penalty spot & Callum Dickenson, scoring the visitors consolation was Luke Goddard. Merley CS moved up into 5th place after their 2-1 win on the Island against hosts Portland United Reserves, scoring for the visitors were Ellis George & Matt Groves from the penalty spot whist scoring for the hosts was Josh Camp.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
