Introduction to the;

Dorset Premier Football League

The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.

The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.

 

The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.

The  DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

CONGRATULATIONS to BOURNEMOUTH SPORTS FC who after their win this afternoon are LEAGUE CHAMPIONS with 1 game to play .....

Lets start at The County Ground as goals from Taylor Webb & Sam Darlow saw Bournemouth Sports beat hosts Hamworthy United Reserves 2-0 to secure the League Title this afternoon. Cobham Sports pushed them all the way by beating Poole Borough 6-0 at Turlin Moor with goals from Charlie Harries [x3] Alexandre Borges, Jordan Toop & Joe Wood. There were 2-0 Home wins for Bridport Reserves & Sherborne Town Reserves, the Bees beat Hamworthy Recreation Reserves with goals from George Wyrill & Noah House, whilst the Zebras accounted for Portland United Reserves with goals from Elliott Mann & Ash Guppy. Finally there was 8 goals at The New Cuthbury as hosts Wimborne Town Reserves beat Swanage T&H 5-3, scoring for the hosts were Callum Clarke [x2] Kimanie Edwards, Kester Wilson & George Charlton, replying for the Swans were Cody Moore, Josh Titley & Ocean Smith.

On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football. 

In summary

  • From August outdoor competitive football can commence e.g for pre-season friendlies

  • From September grassroots leagues can commence competitions

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

To All Club Secretaries:

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System.  At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.

Please excuse the confusion by comment at the AGM.
