Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

We now know what the Title permutation's are, Sturminster Newton completed their season today with a hard fought 2-1 win at Merley CS which means they are in the Clubhouse with 74 Points and a + 71 GD, Asa Phillips put Merley ahead only for an OG to bring the sides level, the all important winner for the visitors was scored by Elliott Bevis. Hard on their heels are Holt United who left it late to beat hosts Sherborne Town Res 3-1 at Raleigh Grove, scoring for the hosts was Alfie Calway whilst scoring for the Bulls with 2 goal coming in the final 6 minutes were Scott Bungay, Corey Elwick & a Sam Herrington, this win now means the Petersham Lane Outfit need 7 points from their 3 remaining games to be crowned Champions, 6 points could also see them over the line with goal difference then coming into play, currently they have a + 70 GD. Westland Sports and Bournemouth Sports who are both playing for a 3rd place finish played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Alvington with Phil Ormrod scoring for the hosts and Awwal Abubaker replying for the visitors, Blandford United will finish the season in 5th place after their 5-3 win at Portland United Reserves in what was a hugely entertaining encounter, the Royals courtesy of strikes from Taylor Webb and a brace from Elliott Manson led 3-0 at the break, only for the hosts to get back into the game with goals from Josh Camp & Archie Woolford, only for Mark Ford to restore the visitors 2 goal advantage, Riley Greenwood then scored again for Portland, however any thought of a stunning turnaround were dashed as Mark Ford got his 2nd and the Royals 5th to secure the win.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
