"DOUBLE" Winners .....
Congratulations go to STURMINSTER NEWTON FC who this afternoon completed the 2nd leg of the "Double" after defeating Wimborne Town FC Reserves in the League Cup Final played at Portland United FC in glorious sunshine.
The Cherries took an early Lead when George Coleman converted a 7th minute Penalty only for Wimborne's Addwell Chipangura to equalise, also from the penalty spot, in the 13th minute, chances came and went for both sides but they went in level at the break. Into the 2nd half and Wimborne went more on the front foot but it was Sturminster substitute Elliott Bevis who scored the all important winner with just over 15 minutes to go.
This was tough on Wimborne who not only finished as runners up today but also as runners up in the League. However ALL the plaudits rightfully go to STURMINSTER NEWTON FC for their "Double" success and importantly for their Promotion into Step 6 for season 2024 / 2025
Meanwhile in the League, Sherborne Town Reserves finished their season on a high with a 4-1 win against local rivals Westland Sports with Jamies Jarman (x2) Alfie Calway & Olly Hebbard all scoring for the Zebras.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.
In summary
-
From August outdoor competitive football can commence e.g for pre-season friendlies
-
From September grassroots leagues can commence competitions

To All Club Secretaries:
Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
Please excuse the confusion by comment at the AGM.
