Introduction to the;

Dorset Premier Football League

The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.

The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.

The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.

The  DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

CONGRATULATIONS to ALL at HOLT UNITED FC who by virtue of their win tonight are this season’s LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

Holt needing only a point to secure the title welcomed Swanage T&H to Petersham Lane tonight and were very deserving 7-2 winners, scoring for the Bulls were Ali Garard with 2 Penalties, Scott Bungay, Connor Bent, Dan Bradford, Corey Elwick & Ben Sullivan, whilst scoring the 2 Swans consolations were Charlie Brassington & Ocean Smith. Westland Sports secured 3rd place in the table after a 2-1 win at Cranford Avenue against hosts Balti Sports with Harrison Foster scoring a brace, Carl Mutch scored for the hosts who also has Dan Andrews sent off in the 1st half. In the late kick off, Wimborne Town Reserves and Blandford United played out a 6 goal thriller with honours even 3-3. Wimborne raced into a 2 goal League with strikes from Heath Thornton & George Ashby, back came the Royals to level with goals from Reuben Stanley & Elliott Manson, and with time almost up, the hosts retook the lead from a Penalty converted by Luke Sheehy, However with injury time being played the Royals were awarded a Penalty themselves which was duly dispatched by Joe Smith to restore parity.

On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

In summary

  • From August outdoor competitive football can commence e.g for pre-season friendlies

  • From September grassroots leagues can commence competitions

To All Club Secretaries:

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System.  At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.

Please excuse the confusion by comment at the AGM.
