
Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

And so the Midweek Matches begin....
14th AUGUST 2024
Blandford Road is Yellow & Black tonight as Poole Borough picked up their 1st win of the season by defeating near rivals Hamworthy United Reserves 2-0 at Turlin Moor, scoring for the hosts were Conor Jevon & Simon Proffitt. Bournemouth Sports picked up their 1st win of the season as they won a 7 goal thriller at Chapel Gate 4-3 against Hamworthy Recreation Reserves, Sam Darlow with a hat trick & Tommy White scored for the hosts with Henry Barham, Curtis Lane & Bryce Banfield replying for Rec. Portland United Reserves came from 1 down to beat visitors Bridport Reserves 4-1 at the Camp & Satherley Stadium, Callum Arnold put the "Bees" ahead only for Josh Tennant to restore parity bang on HT, further goals from Josh Tennant & Troy Walbridge (x2) saw the "Blues" claim their 1st win of the season. Meanwhile at Raleigh Grove Sherborne Town Reserves went down 4-2 to Westland Sports, the visitors were 3 up at HT with goals from Josh Payne (x2) & Jamie Thompson, with Phil Ormrod also missing a penalty, Phil was to make amends as he made it 4-0 before the "Zebras" hit back with goals from debutant Jamar Collins. In the late game Wimborne Town Reserves entertained Blandford United at the New Cuthbury with the "Royals" also picking up their 1st win of the season after a 3-1 victory with goals from Thomas Butcher, Stephen Smith & Mark Ford, replying for the hosts with a penalty was Filip Kwiatkowski.
13th AUGUST 2024
Holt United picked up their 1st win of the season after a 6-1 win at Petersham Lane against Bournemouth Electric, scoring for the "Bulls" were Ali Garard with a hat trick, George Lane with a brace & Sam Bennett, scoring Electric's consolation was Josh, Charalambos, meanwhile at Merley Park, hosts Cobham Sports beat Swanage T&H 4-0 to notch their 1st win of the season with Charlie Spears bagging a hat trick & Chris Manners also scoring. Dorchester Sports welcomed Balti Sports to the Avenue and the hosts made it 2 wins from 2 as they beat their Ridgeway rivals 5-0 scoring for Dorch were Dylan Ellis with a hat trick, Alex Godfrey & Derek Wall.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.
