Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

Today saw the 5 remaining League Cup 1st round ties played alongside 3 League Matches ......
In the Cup, and making it through to the 2nd round were, Holt United who beat Bridport Reserves 4-1 at Petersham Lane, scoring for the Bulls were Sam Bennett, Sam Herrington. Ali Garard & Ben Lebow, scoring the Bees consolation was ???? Swanage T&H under new management comfortably beat Sherborne Town Reserves also 4-1 in the Purbeck, scoring for the Swans were Sam Clarke, Ocean Smith, Joshua Reavenall-Nuete & Charlie Brassington, replying for the Zebras was Alec Thomas. Blandford United also made it into the hat but left it late as they beat hosts Westland Sports 2-1 at Alvington, the hosts took the lead through Jamie Thomson this after the Royals had missed a 1st half penalty, however 2 late goals from Elliott Manson say the visitors progress. The other 2 ties saw Hamworthy United Reserves beat near neighbours Poole Borough 3-2 AET at Turlin Moor. The Hammers went into a 2 goal lead with goals from Arche Southern & Oliver Robertson only for Tony O'Callaghan & Connor Jevon to score for the hosts to take the game in to Extra Time, where it was the visitors who won through when Reece Dilling scored in the 2nd period. Another game to go to extra time and then to Penalties was at the Camp & Satherley Stadium where Portland United Reserves & Bournemouth Sports played out a 3-3 draw at FT - 4-4 after extra time with the Blues winning the penalty shootout 5-4. Scoring for the hosts in the 120 minutes were ???? with Max Mountford, James Bergin [x2] & Jack Voisey replying for Sports.
LEAGUE
Cobham Sports were the big winners of the day as they thumped Balti Sports 10-0 at the College with goals from Tadgh Case [x4] Josh Buck [x3] Dan Brown, Ellis George & an Josh Toop. Bournemouth Electric continued their fine form with a 5-1 home win against Wimborne Town Res, scoring for the hosts were Kayne Daysh [x4] & Scott Joyce with Callum Clarke scoring for the visitors. Finally at Magna Road, Dorchester Sports beat hosts Hamworthy Recreation Reserves 4-1 with goals from Alex Godfrey [x2] Josh Leake & an OG, replying for the visitors was Charlie Harries. However this doesn't tell the whole story as the visitors were reduced to 9 men before HT.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
