
Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
7 games played today and 38 goals to boot ......
Biggest winners today were Blandford United who Royally thrashed Bridport Reserves 8-0 at Park Road, scoring for the Blues were Reuben Stanley [x3] Steve Smith [x2] Elliott Manson [x2] & Mark Ford, Holt United won 7-1 on the road at Turlin Moor against Poole Borough, scoring for the Bulls were Alistair Garard [x2] Sam Bennett [x2] Sam Herrington, Jamie Power & Tyler Nickle, replying with the hosts consolation was Kieron Denty. Another big winner on the road were Swanage T&H who taught their hosts Balti Sports a lesson at the College 6-0, scoring for the Swans were Paul Best [x2] Josh Reavenall-Nuete, Cody Moore Stephen Prior & Charlie Pitt. Dorchester Sports won 4-2 at Hamworthy United Reserves with both Alex Godfrey & Sol Roche getting a brace a piece with Jahrel Campbell & Archie Southern replying for the Hammers. Another side to win 4-2 were Hamworthy Recreation Reserves who beat Wimborne Town Reserves at Magna Road with their goals coming from Bryce Banfield, Charlie Harries, Dan Reeks & Elliott Birtwistle with Maksym Boichuk & Max Patmore replying for the visitors. Cobham Sports beat Sherborne Town Reserves 2-0 at home with Charlie Shears & Mike Trim scoring for the hosts, finally Bournemouth Sports still remain unbeaten as they left it late to beat Portland United Reserves 2-0 at Chapel Gate with Jack Voisey & James Bergin both scoring.
HAMPSHIRE SATURDAY TROPHY
Bournemouth Electric progressed to the next round after an 8-1 win at home against Liss Athletic Reserves, scoring for the hosts were Sergio Cracium [x3] Dillon King [x2] Jackson Kavita, Khalid Hawsawi & Kadakwashe Golden Bangu.
SOMERSET SENIOR CUP
Westland Sports bowed out as they went out 4-1 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Ashcott.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.
