Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

Today saw the start of the New Dorset Premier Football League season ......
Defending Champions Holt United got their defence of the title off to a perfect start as they beat Shaftesbury Reserves 9-2 at Petersham Lane, scoring for the "Bulls" were Kyle Clement (4), Scott Bungay (3), Sam Herrington & Ali Garard, replying for the "Rockies" were James Coat & Steve Lillis. Another side to hit 9 were Dorchester Sports who beat Sturminster Marshall 9-0 away, scoring for Sports were Alex Godfrey (3), Dan Sheehy (2), Owen Peart (2), Josh Camp & Carl Edwards. Sturminster Newton welcomed Blandford United to Barnetts field with the away side Royally claiming local bragging rights after an impressive 4-1 victory, scoring for the "Royals" were Elliot Manson (3) & Archie Macarthy with George Coleman scoring for the hosts. Bridport Reserves picked up an impressive opening day win as they beat Bournemouth Sports 2-0 at St Marys field, scoring for the "Bees" were Josh Baker & Adam Steel. Hamworthy United Reserves came from 1 down at half time to eventually win 2-1 against Westland Sports at the County Ground, Lewis Morgan put the visitors ahead before goals from Nemo Nixon & Marco Fowler secured the points for the "Hammers". Wimborne Town Reserves also got their season off to a flying start as they beat Balti Sports 5-0 at the New Cuthbury with Addwell Chipangura hitting 4 & Finlay Toghill also scoring, to make matters worse for Sports they had Jay Hawker dismissed in the 1st half. Swanage T&H beat Portland United Reserves 3-0 at Days Park with the "Swans" scorers being Ocean Smith, Jack Hughes & Jake Streams, finally, Merley CS made the long trip to Raleigh Grove to face hosts Sherborne Town Reserves with the visitors winning 1-0 courtesy of a Owen Reynolds goal.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
