Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

Another explosive weekend in the Dorset Premier Football League saw 41 goals shared across eight fixtures — a showcase of attacking intent and standout individual performances.
Holt United stayed top with a commanding 3–0 win over Sherborne Town Reserves at Petersham Lane. Ben Hands opened the scoring before Matty Stephenson added a brace to seal the points for the Bulls. Cobham Sports climbed to second after a 5–1 home victory against Portland United Reserves. Despite Darenth Watts giving Portland an early lead, Cobham hit back through Asa Phillips (x2), Harrison Wright, Callum Perry, and Aiden Enver. Bournemouth Electric earned a solid 2–0 away win at Wareham Rangers, with goals from Marcus Cullen and Edrin Asante. Balti Sports produced the day’s biggest score line, dismantling Mere Town 7–1 at the College. The goals came from Taylor Brown (x2), Matt Harvey (x2), Matt Chambers, Charlie Pitt, and Callum Stanton, while Malachi Benjamin netted Mere’s consolation. At Chapel Gate, Bournemouth Sports defeated Wimborne Town Reserves 3–1, thanks to second‑half strikes from James Bergin, Billy McDermott, and Lewis Evans; Ray Brimm replied for Town. Dorchester Sports edged Hamworthy Recreation Reserves 3–2 at The Avenue Stadium, with goals from Toby Kelly, Alex Godfrey, and Dylan Ellis. Nathaniel Quiroga and Alex Butnariu found the net for Rec.
Swanage Town & Herston stunned Gillingham Town 6–0 at Woodwater Lane. The Swans’ scorers were Joshua Reavenall‑Nuete, Curtis Young (x2), Jack Hughes, and Mark Ford (x2). Finally, Hamworthy United Reserves swept aside hosts Verwood Town 6–1, led by a four‑goal masterclass from Keith Tottingham, alongside strikes from James Cherrett and Freddie Kenway; Matt Pope scored Verwood’s reply.
The weekend’s action underlined the league’s attacking depth — with 41 goals, eight different clubs on the scoresheet, and several players already staking early claims for the golden boot.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.
