
Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

Hamworthy United Reserves maintained pole position after winning a 7 goal thriller at the County Ground 4-3 against Swanage Town & Herston, the "Swans" led 3 times in the game only to be pipped in the dying moments, scoring for the hosts were Eric Richardson & Charlie Harries both with braces whilst the "Swans" goals came courtesy of Ocean Smith (x2) & Stephen Pryor. Holt United returned to winning ways by defeating Dorchester Sports 3-2 at Petersham Lane, scoring for the "Bulls" were Corey Elwick (x2) & Ali Garard with Dan Sheehy & Carl Edwards replying for the visitors. Blandford United continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 win at Chapel Gate against hosts Bournemouth Sports, Mark Ford put the "Royals ahead only to be pegged back by a Karol Borowski strike. George Coleman restored the visitors lead, Bournemouth Sports then missed a penalty before Reuben Stanley secured the points for the visitors. Balti Sports encouraging start to the season continued as they beat Sherborne Town Reserves 3-1 at the College, scoring for the hosts were Derek Wall with a brace & Jake Hawker. Poole Borough secured a deserved 3-0 win at Turlin Moor against Bridport Reserves, scoring for the hosts were Harry White & a brace from Tom Weeks. Portland United picked up a routine 4-0 win at basement dwellers Sturminster Marshall, scoring for the "Blues" were Lance Wilson, Tom Butcher, Taylor Edmonds & Archie Machon, meanwhile Sturminster Newton beat visitors Wimborne Town Reserves 4-1 at Barnett's field, with Elliott Bevis, Ash Clarke and a brace from Buddy O'Shea, Albie Turner scored Wimborne's consolation. 2 goals in the 23rd minute settled the game at Alvington as Merley Cobham Sports beat their hosts Westland Sports 2-0 with their strikes from Ellis George & Owen Reynolds.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
