
Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
It was top versus bottom at Park Road as Leaders Blandford United welcomed Sturminster Marshall what followed was a goal fest for the hosts as they Royally thumped their visitors 19-1 !!! Mark Ford top scored by hitting 7, Archie McCarthy hit 3, Brad Pike with a brace, Sam Smith with a brace also and goals for Elliott Manson, Brad Pike, George Coleman, Joe Kempster & Logan Laird, scoring Sturminster's consolation was Dylan Collins with a 1st half penalty. Another side to win big at home were Portland United reserves who Hammered Hamworthy United Reserves 7-1 at the Camp & Satherley Stadium, scoring for the "Blues" were Tom Butcher (x4) Josh Camp (x2) & John Pritchard. Holt United picked up all 3 points from their trip to Turlin Moor as they beat hosts Poole Borough 4-0, scoring for the "Bulls" were Kyle John-Clement, Scott Bungay (x2) & George Lane.
LEAGUE CUP - Round 1
Holders, Sturminster Newton got their defence of the Cup off to a perfect start by winning 5-1 at Balti Sports, scoring for the holders were Jamie Danoris (x2) Elliott Bevis, Buddy O'Shea & Neil Sweatman, replying for Sports was Derek Wall. Bournemouth Sports made it through to the next round after a 6-2 win at Chapel Gate against Swanage T&H, who took the lead through Cody Moore only to see the hosts score through James Trimble (x2) James Bergin, Matt Gane, Sam Darlow & Jack Voisey, scoring also for the "Swans" was Ocean Smith. Merley Cobham Sports left it late to progress as they won a close match 2-1 at home against Dorchester Sports, Awwal Abubakar put the host ahead only for Sports Dan Peart to equalise from the penalty spot early in the 2nd half and with the game heading for Extra Time Dan Edwards scored the winner in injury time. Wimborne Town Reserves won an entertaining game 4-2 at Alvington against hosts Westland Sports despite trailing twice in the tie !! Scoring for the visitors were George Griffiths, Addwell Chipangurs with a Penalty, Heath Thornton and an OG, Joe Smith & Ollie Crisp scored for Westlands.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
