Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

It was a busy weekend with League and County Cup matches for our DPL Teams .....
LEAGUE
Blandford United FC moved into 2nd place after a fully deserved 5-0 win at park road against Portland United FC Reserves with Elliott Manson hitting a hat trick and Jimmy Fry & Steve Smith also scoring for the Royals. Holt United FC welcomed Balti Sports FC to Petersham Lane with the Bulls winning 3-1, scoring for the hosts were Ben Lebow, George Ashby & Josh Buck with Jack Summers replying for Sports. Another side to win 3-1 were Bournemouth Sports FC who defeated Gillingham Town FC at Chapel Gate, scoring for the hosts were an OG, Rob Howard & Daniel Viner with Josh Grice replying from the penalty spot for the visitors. Swanage Town & Herston FC returned to winning ways with a deserved 3-0 win in the Purbeck against Verwood Town FC, scoring for the Swans were Stephen Pryor with a brace & Ogun Gundogdu. Sherborne Town FC Reserves continued their fine recent form with a 3-0 win at Hamworthy Recreation FC Reserves, scoring for the Zebras were Ash Guppy with a brace & Blake Watts. Finally to the County Ground where it was the proverbial game of 2 half's between Hamworthy United FC Reserves * Wimborne Town FC Reserves where it ended 2-2, Wimborne led 2-0 at the break through goals from Maksym Boichuk & Kester Wilson, only to be pegged back by the Hammers through Billy Phillips & James Cherrett.
DORSET SENIOR TROPHY
In the tie of the round, Dorchester Sports FC welcomed Cobham Sports FC to the Avenue with the visitors progressing through after a 4-1 win, scoring for Cobham were Callum Clarke [x2] Michael Trim & Harrison Wright, replying for the hosts was Brin Doyle. Joining Cobham in the next round are Bridport FC Reserves who travelled to Maiden Newton & Cattistock FC winning 2-0 with both goals from Harry Boulton. Dorset Senior League side Westover B-mth FC comfortably beat Poole Borough FC 3-1, scoring Borough's consolation was Christian Bond.
HAMPSHIRE SATURDAY TROPHY
Despite goals from Matt Charalambous & Jackson Kavita, Bournemouth Electric FC bowed out of the Competition 3-2 at Whitehill & Bourdon FC.
SOMERSET SENIOR CUP
Westland Sports FC lost on penalties 4-2 to Nailsea FC, this after leading 2-0 through a brace from Phil Ormrod only to be pegged back to 2-2 at FT.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
