Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
Blandford United maintained pole position after beating Portland United Res 4-1 at Park Road, scoring for the League leaders were Mark Ford, Steve Smith, Reuben Stanley & Joe Kempster with Jake Coombes scoring for the visitors. Merley CS won again beating Westland Sports 5-1 at home with Alex Rankin, Ellis George, Dan Edwards & a brace from Awwal Abubakar all scoring, Westland’s goal came courtesy of Jake Coombes. Swanage T&H made the long trip West to face hosts Bridport and will be returning to the Purbecks with all 3 points after a deserved 2-1 win, both Swans goals came from Jack Tourniainen with Harry Burwood getting the Bees goal.
DORSET SENIOR TROPHY - Rnd 1
Holders Wimborne Town Res got their defence of the trophy off to a winning start by bearing Poole Borough 3-1 at Turlin Moor, scoring for the holders were Addwell Chipangura (x2) & Finlay Toghill. Joining them in Rnd 2 are Sturminster Newton who hammered Sturminster Marshall 12-0 at Barnett's field, scoring for the hosts were Buddy O'Shea (x5) Jamie Danoris (x2) Elliott Bevis (x2) Finn Evans, Will Guppy & an OG. Holt United made light work of near neighbours Cranborne as they won 8-1 with Ali Garard & Scott Bungay both helping themselves to a hat trick, the Bulls other goals came courtesy of Kyle John-Clement &Sam Bennett. Another side to hit 8 were Balti Sports who won 8-0 at the College against Shaftesbury Res, Oscar Preece (x) Callum Allison (x2) Stef Stavrinos, Ethan Delaney & Tom Biles hit for the home side. Bournemouth Sports beat Sherborne Town Res 5-1 at Chapel Gate with Jack Voisey (x3) Sam Darlow & Gabriel Spennato scoring for the hosts. After yesterdays devastating news that Hamworthy United FC were pulling out of the Southern League with immediate effect, their reserves showed the future of the Club is in good hands as they won a 9 goal thriller at the County Ground as they beat Hamworthy Recreation Development 6-3, scoring for the Hammers were Finlay West, Neemo Nixon, Remus Nixon (x2) & Lennon Clayton Finally, Dorchester Sports safely made it into round 2 after a 4-1 win at DSL side Tisbury with the Sports goals coming from Dylan Ellis (x2) Owen Peart & Dan Sheehy.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
