Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE CUP - Quarter Finals
In the 2 scheduled ties played today, both Blandford United & Wimborne Town Reserves made it into the Semi Final draw after comfortable wins. Blandford United overcame Poole Borough 4-0 at Park Road with Steve Smith & a hat trick from Mark Ford scoring for the Royals who at 1-0 up were indebted to goalkeeper Bradley Pike, who denied the visitors with superb Double Save from a penalty, meanwhile at Chapel Gate, visitors Wimborne Town Reserves beat hosts Bournemouth Sports 6-2 with their goals courtesy of braces from Addwell Chipangura & Finley Toghill and goals from Harry Morgan & Jamie Johnston with Sam Darlow adding a brace for the hosts.
LEAGUE
Merley CS won a close encounter 2-1 at home against Hamworthy United Reserves with all the goals coming in the 1st half, Dan Kelly put the Hammers ahead before Awwall Abubakar with a penalty and a Michael Trim effort secured the win for the hosts. Sturminster Newton welcomed Portland United Reserves to Barnetts field with the hosts winning 3-2, scoring for the hosts were Will Guppy (x2) & Ryan Schoulten with Tom Butcher & Jamie Cleaver replying for the Blues. Westland Sports picked up a much needed win with a routine 8-0 win at Sturminster Marshall, scoring for the Alvington outfit were Braces from Ollie Crisp & Duncan McCabe with further strikes from Jamie Jarman, Fillip Novak, Sam Fuller & Jack Vine. Sherborne Town Reserves welcomed Dorchester Sports to Raleigh Grove, however with the score 2-1 to the visitors, the monsoon like conditions proved too much as the Referee was left with little option but to Abandon the game in the 67th minute due to a waterlogged pitch. Alex Murphy had put the Zebras ahead before goals from Matt Groves and a Owen Peart penalty saw the visitors ahead, then the heavens opened ....
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
