Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
Wimborne Town Reserves hit hosts Sturminster Marshall 8-1 with Addwell Chipangura netting 6 times with Charlie Wooding & HJamie Johnston getting their others, The hosts consolation came courtesy of an OG. Poole Borough picked up a deserved 3-1 win at Turlin Moor against Sherborne Town Reserves who opened the scoring through Jamie Russo, but 2nd half goals from Ty Denty (x2) & Kieran Denty saw the hosts home. Portland United Reserves beat Swanage Town & Herston 1-0 at the Camp & Satherley Stadium with the all important winning goal scored by John Pritchard, meanwhile at Alvington and with the score Westland Sports 0 Hamworthy United Reserves 1, the game was abandoned by the Match Official in the 55th minute, Henri Webb had scored for the visitors.
DORSET SENIOR TROPHY
Blandford United came from 1 down to beat Merley CS at Park Road, Scott Walters had given the visitors a 1 goal lead at HT but strikes from Jack Satterley & Mark Ford saw the Royals home and into the next round. Another side to win through were Holt United who beat hosts Balti Sports 2-1 at the College, scoring for the Bulls were Kyle John-Clement with a brace. Sturminster Newton also won on the road as they beat Dorset Senior League side 4-1 with their goals courtesy of Nick Thompson, George Coleman, Lewis Clarke & Jamie Danoris.
Bridport Reserves made it through also to the next round, but needed penalties (4-2) to beat hosts Wincanton Reserves after the game had finished 1-1 , with the Bees goal coming from a Josh Baker Penalty.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.
