
Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
A full house of fixtures today as all 8 League matches went ahead………
Sturminster Newton maintained top spot after a comfortable 4-0 win against Balti Sports at Barnet’s Field, scoring for the cherries were Elliott Bevis, Aaron Lane- Laney & Nick Thompson with a brace.Bournemouth Sports kept the pressure up on the leaders with a 3-1 win at Chapel Gate against Sherborne Town Reserves, scoring for the hosts were Jack Voisey with a brace and Tom White, whilst scoring Sherborne’s consolation was Darren Shearer. Blandford United and Wimborne Town Reserves played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Park Road with Steve Smith putting the hosts ahead only to be pegged back, however, the hosts were indebted to keeper Mark Ford who twice saved a retaken penalty to deny Wimborne whose goal was scored by Liam Nixon. Westland Sports exacted some revenge on Sturminster Marshall after last weeks cup exit by beating them 4-2 at Alvington, Phil Ormrod with a hat trick & Joe Smith scored for the hosts with Callum Whitelaw & a Jordan Fisk penalty replying for Marshall. Merley CS returned to winning ways with a 2-1 home win against Hamworthy United Reserves, Merley’s scorers were Dan Edwards & Nathan Walker with the Hammers goal courtesy of Alfie Matthew’s. Meanwhile at Petersham Lane Holt United and Dorchester Sports played out a 7 goal thriller with the hosts winning 4-3, Scott Bungay with a brace, Connor Bent & Nathan Redwood scoring for the Bulls, with Dorchester’s coming from Alex Godfrey, Elliot Rossiter & Toby Read. Swanage T&H came from behind to beat their visitors Shaftesbury Reserves at Days Park, scoring for the Swans were Ocean Smith & Paul Best with Jake Forbes notching for the Rockies.Poole Borough and Bridport Reserves played out a 0-0 draw at Turin Moor.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
