Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
Dorchester Sports have now not won in their last 4 games, this after Blandford United beat them 4-2 at the Avenue Stadium, despite taking the lead through Ollie Lowes, however goals from Reuben Stanley, Sam Watson & Pat Jenkins put the Royals 3-1 up, Liam O'Shaughnessy then saw Red for the hosts before Kriss Radivojsa pulled 1 back only for Archie Macarthy to make the points safe with the 4th late on. Poole Borough picked up an important 3 points as they beat Sherborne Town Reserves 3-1 at Turlin Moor, scoring for the Hornets were Tom Weeks from the penalty spot, Alfie Tilsted, also from the spot & Max Kenway, replying for the visitors was Darren Shearer. Merley CS travelled to basement dwellers Shaftesbury Reserves and return to Merley Park with all 3 points after a comfortable 5-1 win, scoring for the visitors were Ellis George, George Coleman with a Hat Trick & James Cherrett, scoring the Rockies consolation was Mitchell White. Holt also won 5-1 on the road after their win at the College against hosts Balti Sports, whose goal came courtesy of Taylor Brown, scoring for the “Bulls” were Sam Herrington, Ali Garard, Corey Elwick, Emil Jakobsen & Chris Manners. Westlands made the long trip to the Purbecks to play Swanage T&H and return to Somerset with the points after a 4-1 win, scoring for Sports were Phil Ormrod with a hat trick & Jamie Thompson, with the "Swans" goal scored by Jack Hughes. Another side to win 4-1 were Hamworthy United Reserves who beat Portland United Reserves at the Sunseekers International County Ground, scoring for the Hammers were Kai McCrow x2, George Lewis & Neemo Nixon, whilst Tom Butcher notched for the Blues. In the other all reserve fixture, Wimborne Town Reserves hammered Bridport Reserves 8-0 at home with their goals coming courtesy of Brad Waters x2, Luke Sheehy x2, Liam Nixon x2, Heath Thornton & Sam Hansford.
HAMPSHIRE SATURDAY TROPHY
Bournemouth Sports bowed out of the Competition at the Quarter Final stage after Clanfield FC beat them 2-1 at Chapel Gate, the hosts goal came courtesy of an OG.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
