
Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
Blandford United maintained pole position after a come from behind, twice, to finally overcome Holt United 3-2 at Park Road, Scott Bungay had twice given the Bulls the lead only to be pegged back by goals from Elliot Manson and a Steve Smith penalty, the all important winner came from Mark Ford in the closing minutes. The Sturminster Derby went predictably the way of Newton as they beat hosts Marshall 6-0 with their goals coming courtesy of Lewis Clarke (x3) Ashley Clarke (x2) & Jamie Danoris. Meanwhile at the Avenue, Dorchester Sports & Wimborne Town Reserves played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Sports goals scored by Owen Peart & Josh Leake, replying for Wimborne were Charlie Wooding & Finlay Toghill. In the late game, Portland United Reserves picked up a deserved 3-0 win at the County Ground against hosts Hamworthy United Reserves with the Blues goals, all in the 1st half, scored by George Stuttle and a brace from Josh Camp.
HAMPSHIRE SATURDAY TROPHY
At the 3rd time of asking and despite a Matt Ellis goal, Bournemouth Sports bowed out of the Competition as Crofton Saints beat them 2-1 at Chapel Gate.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
