Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
The top 3 at the start of the day all dropped points this afternoon with League Leaders Sturminster Newton drawing 3-3 with Dorchester Sports, scoring for the hosts were Elliott Bevis, Ash Clarke & Will Guppy, replying for Sports were Elliott Rossiter, Toby Read & Owen Peart.
Westland Sports suffered a rare defeat as they went down 3-2 at Merley CS, despite being 2-0 up with goals from Steve & Phil Ormrod, the hosts came roaring back with 2 quick fire strikes from Mike Trim & Dan Edwards with the all important winner coming via the penalty spot, converted by evergreen Matt Groves. Blandford United picked up a comfortable 3 points after defeating bottom placed Shaftesbury Reserves 4-0 at Park Road, scoring for the "Royals" were Pat Jenkins with a brace, Steve Smith from the penalty spot and Reuben Stanley. Another side to win 4-0 were Portland United Reserves who downed Sherborne Town Reserves at the Camp & Satherley stadium with all 4 goals coming in the 1st half courtesy of Tom Butcher, Lance Wilson, Greg Borthwick & Josh Camp. Holt United picked up an impressive 3-1 win at Petersham Lane against Bournemouth Sports this after being 1 down at the break to a Karol Borowski effort, Holt's 2nd half goals were scored by Ali Garard & a brace from Connor Bent. Swanage made the long trip West to face Bridport Reserves and it was the "Bees" who stung the "Swans" 4-2 at St Mary's, the hosts went 3 up through Kingsley Wellman, Fyn Morgan & Dominic Mcallister, then the visitors scored to quick fire responses from Paul Best & Ocean Smith, however any thoughts of a comeback were dashed when Bridport's Adam Steele scored the hosts 4th to secure the win. Meanwhile, at the College, Balti Sports & Sturminster Marshall shared the points after a 3-3 draw, scoring for the hosts were Carl McClements from the penalty spot, an OG & Matt Chambers, replying for the visitors were Josh Ridland, Will Gage from the penalty spot & Callum Whitelaw. Poole Borough welcomed Wimborne Town Reserves to Turlin Moor with the visitors edging it 1-0 courtesy of an OG.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
