Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
Westland Sports moved 2 points clear at the top of the table after their 2-1 win at Turlin Moor against hosts Poole Borough, Alfie Tilsted put the hosts in front however an OG & a Phil Ormrod goal secured the points for the visitors. Portland United Reserves picked up a deserved 2-0 win at Bridport Reserves with both the Blues goals coming from Josh Camp. Merley Cobham Sports and Swanage T&H played out a 5 goal thriller at Merley Park with the visitors finally paying the penalty after twice leading. Jack Hughes put the Swans ahead only for evergreen Matt Groves to equalise from the spot. Ocean Smith put the visitors back in front only for Dan Reeks to bring MCS level, it was left to that man again Matt Groves to win the game, again converting from the penalty spot. Another match to be settled from the Penalty spot was at Park Road where Blandford United despite taking the lead through Joe Freak, eventually lost 2-1 to Holt United with the Bulls winner coming from the spot in the 89th minute courtesy of Ali Garard, this after Scott Bungay had earlier equalised. In a big game at the foot of the table where the bottom 2 faced of at Raleigh Grove, hosts Sherborne Town Reserves walloped Shaftesbury Reserves 11-0. Scoring for the Zebras were Alfie Calway, Dec Cornish, Henry Lawrence-Napier, Josh Williams x4, Aaron Binding, Sam Farthing x2 & Darren Shearer. Hamworthy United Reserves picked up a decent 6-2 win at home against Sturminster Marshall with the Hammers goals coming from Alfie Matthews, Kai McCrow x2, George Lewis, Remus Nixon & Levi Middlewick, whilst replying for the visitors were Jake Hepburn & Callum Whitelaw. Wimborne Town Reserves also picked up another decent reu;t in beating Balti Sports 5-0 at Home, scoring for the hosts were Liam Nixon x2, Luke Sheehy, Brad Waters & Keith Forrington.
LEAGUE CUP
Bournemouth Sports hosted Sturminster Newton at Chapel Gate in the Quarter final of this seasons Competition and it was the visitors who progressed after a 3-1 win with all the goals coming in the 2nd Half, scoring for the Cherries were Billy Bright, Nick Thomson & Will Guppy. Scoring the hosts consolation was Jack Voisey.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.
