Introduction to the;
Dorset Premier Football League
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

LEAGUE
Abandonments don't happen that often, today we saw the 4th of the season so far, and the 3rd involving Dorchester Sports as their Match at Swanage T&H was curtailed following a player collision with a goal post that ended up snapped leaving the Match Official no option but to Abandon the match. Bournemouth Sports picked up a decent 2-1 win on the road at Alvington against Westland Sports, Jamie Trimble & Matt Gane with the visitors goals with Ollie Crisp scoring for the hosts who also had Oli Wake sent off. Poole Borough also won on the road 4-1 at Sherborne Town Res with Dan Mirto & Ty Denty scoring a brace a piece for the Hornets. Comeback of the day goes to Balti Sports who trailed at Hamworthy United Res 3-0 with 88 minutes on the clock only to score 3 quick fire goals to draw the Match 3-3. Scoring for the Hammers were Lennon Claydon & a brace from Neemo Nixon before Baltis Ethan Clark (x2) & Stef Stavrinos rescued a point for Sports. League leaders Wimborne Town Reserves maintained pole position and added to their goal difference column after their thumping 21-0 win against Sturminster Marshall. Scoring for the hosts were Albie Turner (5) Jack Hoey (4) George Griffith (3) Addwell Chipangura (3) Jamie Johnson (2) Luke Sheehy (2) Heath Thornton & Scott Arnold.
LEAGUE CUP
Holt United made it through to the next round after a 2-0 win at the Camp & Satherley Stadium against Portland Utd Res with goals in each half from Sonny Wilkinson & Scott Bungay. Joining them will be the holders Sturminster Newton who came from being 2-1 down at the breakb to eventually beat visitors Merley CS 4-2, scoring for the hosts were Jamie Danoris, Nick Thompson & a brace from George Coleman with Merley's goals courtesy of a Charlie Shears effort & a Scott Walters penalty
DORSET SENIOR TROPHY
Blandford United made it through to the Semi Final after a 2-0 win at Park Road against Bridport Reserves, scoring for the Blues were Jack Satterley & Mark Ford, who had seen an earlier penalty well saved by the Bees keeper.
On 18 July 2020 the FA issued guidelines for the return of outdoor competitive grassroots football.

The DPL Management Committee will be meeting by the end of this coming week to discuss the situation with a proposed Club Secretaries meeting by the end of July.

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System. At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.
