In a huge game in the title race, leaders Sturminster Newton welcomed Holt United to Barnetts field with the Bulls coming from 2 down to win the game 3-2 and move up into 3rd place in the table. The hosts raced into a 2 goal lead courtesy of goals from Ash Clarke & Will Guppy only for a Sam Herrington free kick & Connor Bents penalty to bring the sides level at the break. The all important winner came early in the 2nd half courtesy of Connor Bent.
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2022/2023 Season will be contested by 18 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and South Somerset, 9 of which have Floodlights and all 18 have an AED device in or adjacent to their facility.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League is now classed as a Regional NLS Feeder League that sits just outside the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's England Football Accredited League Status.
