There was 1 game played this Bank Holiday as Portland United Reserves welcomed Bournemouth Sports to the Camp & Satherley Stadium and in very windy conditions, it was the visitors who took the lead in the 1st half, courtesy of a Luke Street strike, and that's the way it stayed until the dying minutes of the game when Archie Walford scored to equalise for the hosts, however the Blues were not finished there and in injury time Lance Wilson popped in the winner to secure a 2-1 win for the Islanders and put a dent in the visitors title charge.
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2022/2023 Season will be contested by 18 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and South Somerset, 9 of which have Floodlights and all 18 have an AED device in or adjacent to their facility.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League is now classed as a Regional NLS Feeder League that sits just outside the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's England Football Accredited League Status.
