Blandford United picked up a decent 3-0 win at home against Merley CS with the Blues goals coming from Joe Kempster, Steve Smith with a penalty & Joe Freak all scored in the 1st half. The Ridgeway derby went the way of the hosts Portland United Reserves who beat Dorchester Sports 3-2 with their goals coming from Archie Machon x2 & Ollie Mayo, this after trailing to goals from Elliott Rossiter & an OG had put the visitors two up. Wimborne Town Reserves returned to winning ways as they thumped Sherborne Town Reserves 6-1 at the New Cuthbury, scoring for the hosts were Heath Thornton with a hat trick, a brace from Cameron Corbin and a Adam Holmes strike, scoring the consolation for the visitors was Charlie Rowe.
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2022/2023 Season will be contested by 18 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and South Somerset, 9 of which have Floodlights and all 18 have an AED device in or adjacent to their facility.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League is now classed as a Regional NLS Feeder League that sits just outside the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's England Football Accredited League Status.
