CONGRATULATIONS to BOURNEMOUTH SPORTS FC who after their win this afternoon are LEAGUE CHAMPIONS with 1 game to play .....

Lets start at The County Ground as goals from Taylor Webb & Sam Darlow saw Bournemouth Sports beat hosts Hamworthy United Reserves 2-0 to secure the League Title this afternoon. Cobham Sports pushed them all the way by beating Poole Borough 6-0 at Turlin Moor with goals from Charlie Harries [x3] Alexandre Borges, Jordan Toop & Joe Wood. There were 2-0 Home wins for Bridport Reserves & Sherborne Town Reserves, the Bees beat Hamworthy Recreation Reserves with goals from George Wyrill & Noah House, whilst the Zebras accounted for Portland United Reserves with goals from Elliott Mann & Ash Guppy. Finally there was 8 goals at The New Cuthbury as hosts Wimborne Town Reserves beat Swanage T&H 5-3, scoring for the hosts were Callum Clarke [x2] Kimanie Edwards, Kester Wilson & George Charlton, replying for the Swans were Cody Moore, Josh Titley & Ocean Smith.

The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.

The 2022/2023 Season will be contested by 18 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and South Somerset, 9 of which have Floodlights and all 18 have an AED device in or adjacent to their facility.

The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League is now classed as a Regional NLS Feeder League that sits just outside the FA's National League System.

The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's England Football Accredited League Status.
