It came down to their final games of the season to see who would be crowned as Dorset Premier Football League Champions for season 2023/24

CONGRATULATIONS To ALL at Sturminster Newton FC who this afternoon secured the League Title after a 2-0 win at home against Holt United and will now be Promoted up into Step 6 as CHAMPIONS of the Dorset Premier Football League. Scoring the 2 Cherries goals were Nick Hewlett & Elliot Bevis.

Nearest challenges today, Blandford United lost 4-2 at Wimborne Town Reserves who, if they win their remaining game on Monday they will pip the Royals to the runners up spot. Scoring for the hosts were Addwell Chipangura, Harry Morgan, Cameron Mcmonagle & Finlay Toghill, replying for the Royals were Reuben Stanley & George Coleman.

Westland Sports beat Bridport Reserves 4-0 at Alvington, with Jack White, Lewis Morgan, Steve Ormrod & Josj John all scoring for the hosts.

Poole Borough v Balti Sports was Postponed due to Balti unable to raise a side, this matter will now be placed before the LMC.

The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.

The 2022/2023 Season will be contested by 18 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and South Somerset, 9 of which have Floodlights and all 18 have an AED device in or adjacent to their facility.

The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League is now classed as a Regional NLS Feeder League that sits just outside the FA's National League System.

The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's England Football Accredited League Status.
