The Weather played havoc with the League & County Cup schedule with just 2 matches surviving the Wet conditions both in the Dorset Senior Trophy.
Dorchester Sports progressed through to the next round after a comfortable 9-0 home win against near neighbours and Dorset Senior League side Puddletown. Scoring for Sports were Dan Sheehy (x4) Joel Hewitt (x2) Owen Peart, Billy Brumble & Toby Read. Meanwhile not to far away on Portland, trophy holders Wimborne Town Res also progressed into the next round after a narrow 2-1 win against Portland Utd Res, scoring for the Blues was Jacob Coombs, with Addwell Chipangura scoring twice for the holders.
The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.
The 2022/2023 Season will be contested by 18 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and South Somerset, 9 of which have Floodlights and all 18 have an AED device in or adjacent to their facility.
The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League is now classed as a Regional NLS Feeder League that sits just outside the FA's National League System.
The DPL is proud to have been awarded it's England Football Accredited League Status.
