Introduction to the;

Dorset Premier Football League

The league was formed in 1957 and was initially called the Dorset Football Combination League.

The 2019/2020 Season will be contested by 17 teams covering the entire county of Dorset and neighbouring Counties.

The objective of the League on its formation was to increase the standard of football in Dorset, an ideal that still holds true today as the League currently sits at Step 7 of the FA's National League System.

The  DPL is proud to have been awarded it's FA Standard Charter League Status.

News Item

Congratulation go to Sturminster Newton FC on their 3-1 win against Sturminster Marshall FC in todays Final, as in all Finals there has to be a winner and a loser but both sides deserve great credit for the Match they provided today.

A crowd of 386 were in attendance at a sun drenched New Cuthbury, home of Wimborne Town FC to witness the "Cherries" victory.
Marshall took the lead in the 14th minute following an OG by Elliot Pearce-Eavis, however the North Dorset outfit turned it around with strikes from Will Guppy & Ash Clarke to lead 2-1 at the break. A further Buddy O'Shea goal with 20 minutes to go sealed the win and part 1 of a possible Cup double.

The Man of the Match award went to SNUFC's Ash Clarke.

On behalf of the League we thank ALL connected with WTFC for their assistance in staging this final at your superb facility, a mention also to the Match Officials for their excellent handling of the Final today.

To All Club Secretaries:

Having reviewed what was said at the recent AGM, please can I confirm that the club secretaries should register their players on the Whole Game System.  At the same time the player registration form(s) should either be scanned across to me or a hard copy be posted to me so that I can complete the registration process.

Please excuse the confusion by comment at the AGM.
