SWANS FINISH HOME GAMES WITH A WIN
Swans 3 Gillingham Town 0
Swans completed their home games with a comprehensive 3-0 win against Gillingham Town in the Dorset Premier League.
Ocean Smith had an early shot saved by visitors’ keeper Hind but both sides failed to create many chances although Swans had the greater share of the ball. Swans achieved the breakthrough when Marcus Smith volleyed a great shot in the top corner following a punched clearance by keeper Hind. Centre back Gundogdu had his fierce shot saved on the line. Swans doubled the lead just before the interval when top scorer Will Prior scrambled it home following a shot from Ocean Smith that was saved. H.T.2-0.
Swans Produced the best start possible 5 minutes into the second half when Marcus Smith completed his brace with a header from a cross from brother Ocean Smith. The home side dominated large parts of the second half and were unlucky on many occasions with the woodwork being hit three times from set piece headers. Cody Moore saw his shot well saved by Hind, then from a corner Ogun Gundogdu hit the bar with a header and Brad Smith’s effort was also saved from close range. Marcus Smith’s swerving free kick was saved by Gillingham’s star performer, keeper Dale Hind. Swans continued to create a few more chances in the last 10 minutes but were unable to increase their lead.
A great last home performance which produced a number of chances especially in the second half where the Swans dominated proceedings.
A special thanks to Andy Dunster who ran the line in the second half because of an injury suffered by referee Dominic Gregory.
Swans final game is away to Portland United Reserves next Saturday 25.04.26 kick off 3.00pm.
