Game7

Dorchester Sports welcomed Verwood town to the Avenue Stadium for their last game of 2025. Sports were looking to maintain their good current league form and finish the year with three points.

The game started with Sports having plenty of possession and working hard to breakdown the the Verwood low block. As to half progressed the best chances fell to Joel Hewitt, Sanchez Baker and Alex Godfrey as Verwood limited Sports to shots from outside of the box. Verwood did have their opportunities with counter attacks but rarely troubled Nick Hutchings

The second half started with Sports still dominating possession although very threatening on the break with the occasional counter attack. On 60 minutes Sports were awarded a penalty, Hewitt stepped up but his spot kick was saved by the Verwood goalkeeper. Sports continue to press for a goal and on 75 minutes a clearance from a corner dropped to Owen Peart who curled his shot through a crowded box, finding the far corner of the goal to put Sports ahead.

The game played out with Sports maintaining possession and Verwood losing their discipline and being reduced to ten men. The final meant it was three points for Sports and a winning end to 2025.
