Back to football for Cobham Sports after missing out due to the weather last week when they travelled the short journey to Turlin Moor Rec to take on cellar dwellers Poole Borough, the weather was fine but the playing surface was awful, not conducive to any decent football, in fact, if you tried playing it could so easily backfire on you, that said, DPL leaders Cobham Sports dominated the game for long periods and would have been frustrated at just holding a one goal lead at the break, Mike Trim scoring in the 44th minute, Cobham continued their dominance in the second half and added three more to their tally, new boy Ionel Ciprian-Lolot claimed a brace and skipper Ellis George struck to see Cobham home by 4-0.

As expected, Cobham took the game to Poole Borough but play regularly fell down courtesy of the bumpy playing surface, that said, Lolot hit a volley in the 10th minute that clipped the crossbar. Poole Borough caught Cobham on the counter in the 23rd minute, Morrison Wright bringing a comfortable save out of Jack Robertson, this would be a warning to the league leaders. In a forgettable first half Asa Phillips was unlucky to see two headers clip the woodwork, the first hit the crossbar, the second clipped the far post in the 44th minute but Mike Trim slotted home the rebound to give Cobham the lead at the break, 1-0.

Cobham made positional changes at the break and made better use of their possession from the start and Asa Phillips brought a fine save out of Jack James in the Borough goal in the 50th minute and just two minutes later Ciprian-Lolot brought another save out of James. Cobham extended their lead in the 54th minute, an Eze-Sunday cross reached Phillips who was manhandled to the ground and a penalty was awarded, up stepped Ciprian-Lolot who cleverly wrong footed James to put Cobham two up. Manager, Johny Bines went to the bench and introduce Sam Lench who immediately made an impact down the right flank getting on the end of some far more intelligent play by Cobham.

The right flank saw Cobham put much pressure on Borough and when Callum Perry overlapped Lench and crossed into the box, Ellis George was on the end of the cross and his shot was saved by James but the rebound fell kindly for George who headed home the rebound, 3-0 Cobham. It was mainly Cobham now but because of the openness of the game Cobham had to be aware of the counter as they strived for a fourth. Dan Brown was just wide with an effort in the 78th minute and Lench brought another fine save out of James in the 79th minute, Ewan was on the end of a fine move in the 87th minute but his effort flew wide of the far post. Cobham got their fourth and final goal of the afternoon in the third minute of added on time, Perry delivered a cross into the box which found Ciprian-Lolot at the far post and he made no mistake volleying home past a hapless James to see Cobham home by 4-0.
