Game1

Subject: GTFC v Holt Utd

Gillingham Town welcomed Holt Utd to Woodwater lane in a highly anticipated match.

Gillingham looking to build on their draw last time out started the game very brightly, fast paced football and pressing high the opposition struggled
getting to grips with the game.

The opening goal came from a perfectly timed pass from Archie Appleton to find Klarc Coates who coolly beat the keeper to put the Gills 1-0 up.

Gillingham once again creating so many in the first half and dominating the play failing to convert these chances always gives the opponents a lifeline going into halftime only at 1-0.

Gillingham knew Holt would come out the second half trying to make emends for the previous half and started to play changing formation and personal, though having seen out the first 10 minutes Gillingham once again took over the game and looked a real threat going forward. Gillingham took full advantage of their dominance by taking a two goal lead through young Caleb Pack to make it 2.0.

Holt tried their best to get back into the game, though the Gill defence hold firm and resolute allowing Gillingham to push forward once again late in the game with another good passage of play seeing Filip Opalanski go through one on one with the Holt goalkeeper to put the game to rest at 3-0.

Gillingham the much deserved winners and will be looking to build on the last couple of results.

Gillingham Town 3-0 Holt Utd

Today Gill welcomed Holt to WoodWater, after a break of several weeks due to the weather, with a dried out pitch, and a rested team we looked forward to the game.

We were not disappointed, Holt looked the better side for the first part of the first half, but Gill gradually improved and scored the first goal, with the half time a 1-0 advantage to Gill. Holt again attacked hard during the second half, but we  held them off and scored a further two goals.

3-0 at full time, our best result this season, and some indication that our very young team is starting to gell.
